Winter Formal, “Global Heart Warming” this year, was a smashing success. We had great night of music, photo taking, and balloons. Lots and lots of balloons. I feel bad for the administrator of Agate Hall who had to clean up all the wayward balloons from our dance.
Here are some of the thoughts from the ISA PR interns that were at the dance:
…As much as blowing balloons was enjoyable, we lost many in the process (actually, by the end of the party, we lost all of them, either up in the ceiling or in people’s lungs =P)…Aside from that, we also prepared a photo booth for those who came. Unlike last year, we specifically set up a couch, soft fabrics as curtains and flashing bright lights to make guests look the best…
The set-up of our event was successful, and obviously, so was our dance party as a whole! Please continue to look forward to a BIGGER event by us next term!

…I believe the DJ pretty much set the mood and feel for the event. And this particular ‘professional DJ’ pretty much just made our Formal into a High School dance, blaring hip-hop tracks with more often than not, obscene rap lyrics. Frankly I disliked pretty much everything he played, and stayed out in the corridors most of the time. He didn’t play any classic hits, romantic tunes, or songs people are familiar with…
Frankly it didn’t feel so much like a Formal event. I expected draperies, soft lighting, non-deafening music, and round-tables/ group seating. I was really glad for the at least available seating and plentiful drinks and snacks but frankly the ‘Global Heart Warming’ didn’t so much meet my expectations for a formal Dance…

…Dancing in the loud music and dark environment, language was no longer a problem (because you could not hear anything anyways). Everyone was so excited and into the dance. It was definitely a night of fun. Looking around the dance hall, so glad to see many friends around. Girls were fabulous in dresses with silvery accessories, and guys looked surprisingly charming in suits!
Took a rest after hours of dancing. Standing beside the photo-taking booth which was all in pink. Couples holding hands walked into the booth. People around cannot stop themselves from being jealous. “Wooooooooooo”, “so sweet!”, “stand closer!”, “kiss!” …
An unforgetable night, and I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO the dance next year! Will you also be there next time? : )
